        A LaPorte man has been charged with providing alcohol to a New Carlisle teenager whom doctors ruled died of acute intoxication. Matthew Eddy, 24, was charged with Furnishing Alcohol to a Minor, a felony, after police say he told them he purchased beer and vodka for a group of teenagers. St. Joseph County Prosecutor's report one of those teenagers was 18-year-old Andrew Torquino, who was found dead on Aug. 10 in New Carlisle.

        As travelers head out for the holiday weekend the Indiana Department of Transportation is attempting to make traveling a little safer and more efficient. In a press release Friday INDOT announced they have filed a road work moratorium from Friday Aug. 29 until the morning hours of Tuesday, Sept. 2.         UPDATE: Police have identified the moped driver killed this morning in an accident on County Rd. 38. Jennifer Myers, 24, of Millersburg was pronounced dead at the scene.         The trial date for Purvi Patel has been pushed back a fifth time.The St. Joseph County Prosecutor's Office had their motion to add a charge of feticide approved by Judge Hurley on Tuesday. In response, Patel's defense motioned for a continuance to allow time to prepare for the new charges. That motion was granted, and on Friday the new trial was scheduled for Jan. 22. Patel is next due in court in December for her record date.

        BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -FOX59 in Indianapolis is reporting a student died at the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority house on IU's campus Thursday night. According to IU spokesman Mark Land a student was found dead at the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority house around 8 p.m. Foul play is not suspected. The sorority is located at 1020 N.
