        Yesterday afternoon, a seven year old boy was playing with his six year old friend on the 1000 block of South Ironwood, when an unknown male tried to lure the children to a nearby garage according to the South Bend Police Department.The children refused at which point the man exposed his genitalia. The children ran into a nearby home and the suspect left the area in a direction unknown to police.The man is described as having gray balding hair and wearing light colored shorts. More>>

        CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) - A recently demoted executive entered a Loop office building in Chicago on Thursday morning and shot the company’s CEO before turning the gun on himself and committing suicide, authorities said. The shooting happened just before 10 a.m. at the ArrowStream company on the 17th floor of the Bank of America building, 231 S. LaSalle St. “Apparently he was despondent over the fact that he got demoted,” Chicago Police Supt. Garry McCarthy said. More>>

        A Samaritan's Purse International Relief article reports two Americans have contracted the Ebola virus. The organization says Dr. Kent Brantly and Nancy Writebol are in stable but grave condition after contracting the ebola virus. The organization's website says Dr. Brantly recognized he had symptoms of the virus last week and put himself in immediate isolation. More>>

        Drinking water concerns for Granger and Gilmer Park addressed at a meeting Wednesday Video included

        Nitrates, nicotine, deet, and other toxins were discovered in St. Joe County water in December 2013, following a year-long study. Northeast Granger and Gilmer Park on the south side of South Bend are the areas affected by the contamination. The county health department points to septic systems as the cause for the problem. As officers converged on the location, they spotted a green Mercury Sable matching the description of the suspect's vehicle.

           Belleville Park just off the bypass in South Bend is hosting the ASA Men's Major Fastpitch Tournament.  The games started Thursday and a new National Champ will be crowned Sunday.  This is the highest level of softball and South Bend has become a favorite destination.  Some of the best pitchers in the world.  The fastballs and rise balls in the 70's compute to reaction time of well over 100 miles per hour in baseball.

This is how the Stadium looked in April at the Blue Gold Game.  Here it is Wednesday as the new turf is ready to run on.  There are a pair of shamrocks on the 35 yard line.  The iconic interlocking ND at  midfield.  There aren't any words in the endzone.  Just white dashes. ND opens up the season at home August 30th.
