    INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — A federal judge ruled Tuesday that Indiana must recognize same-sex marriages performed in other states, but says the ruling doesn't take effect until the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals rules on the issue. U.S. District Judge Richard Young decided Indiana must recognize the marriage of Michelle and Shannon Bowling of Indianapolis, who were married in Polk County, Iowa, on Jan. 18, 2011.     Pastor Mario Sims, other spiritual leaders, and community "watch dog groups" announced plans today for a Citizens' Review Board. Sims said he believes there is a lack of public trust in South Bend's government. "Enough is enough. Understand the concept of a small handful of cronies padding their pockets, but it could cost us our city," Sims said. He says South Bend needs a Review Board that could hold city agencies accountable, something he thinks isn't happening.More >>

      Notre Dame finished 9-4 last year, and although they lost some key players, they were excited coming off a win a the Pinstripe Bowl.  That enthusiasm seems to be tempered by most, but the coaches and players have no other choice but to push forward and think this is going to be a great year.

    After coaching the Notre Dame Track and Cross Country teams for 26 seasons, Tim Connelly is no longer a coach for the Fighting Irish. Notre Dame Sports Information Director John Heisler said that after Joe Piane retired, the new coach had the ability to hire a new staff. Heisler said Connelly was not part of that plan.More >>
