Some handy Michiana women got together to help fulfill a family's dream on Tuesday.
To mark National Women Build Week, Habitiat for Humanity of Elkhart County called out the female force to help build a home in Elkhart.
This is happening all over America this week. Habitat officials say this particular build is leaning heavily on women.
"One of our requirements for today is that there's 70 percent women," said Lisa Bailey, Habitat for Humanity's development manager. "As you can see, there's almost 100 percent. So it makes it special that it's a house being built by women."
Bailey says the home will be completed by the end of the month. Since 1986, Habitat for Humanity of Elkhart County has built more than 130 houses for families in need.
