ENGLISH, Ind. (AP) - Indiana State Police say human remains found last year in southern Indiana have been identified of those of a man who vanished in 2002.
DNA tests show that the remains found in April 2008 near the Crawford County town of Milltown are those of Russell Lee Darling. The Milltown man was 44 when he disappeared in October 2002.
A team of forensic anthropologists from Indianapolis helped investigators identify the remains. DNA results received Thursday show a high degree of certainty the remains are Darling's.
Trooper Detective Bill Wibbels says Darling's death is suspicious and remains under investigation. Police are asking for anyone who has information on the case to contact them. 1/4
Milltown is 30 miles west of Louisville, Ky.
