SULPHUR, Ind. (AP) - State police say a 16-year-old boy was shot in the shoulder as he was walking into the woods in southern Indiana to go hunting.
Investigators were looking for a white, two-door Chevrolet Cavalier with no hub caps and damage to its front that was possibly nearby when the shooting happened Monday morning near the Crawford County town of Sulphur.
Police say a friend took the teen to a hospital, where he was treated for the wound and released. Detective Rob Gardner says the wound was consistent with that of a small-caliber firearm and that the teen was lucky he wasn't more seriously injured.
