On October 27, South Bend Police received a call from a victim reporting that she had been raped in her home. According to her report, she was asleep when someone knocked on her door. When she asked who it was, the suspect said he was a State Police officer and needed to speak with her about something going on in the neighborhood. After she unlocked the door, the attacker forced his way into her home, pushed her to the floor, and assaulted her. He told her not to scream and threatened to kill her.
Before leaving, the attacker demanded money, and was given the few dollars the victim had in her coin purse. He tied her up with the cord from a space heater and fled.
With information provided by the victim, police were able to identify Frick as their suspect in the case. After conducting some survelience work, they arrested him on Wednesday evening. He is being held in the St. Joseph County Jail on $50,000 bond.
