Tis the season to give, Michiana! Whether you know it or not, several kids right here in Michiana are about to go through the winter months without a warm coat. But, you can change that. All you have to do is donate your gently used kids' coats to Ziker Cleaners.
Monday, November 9th, starts the 23rd year of Ziker Cleaner's "Coats for Kids" program. The program lasts through Saturday, December 5th, at all eight store locations in South Bend, Mishawaka, Granger and Elkhart.
So here's how you can get involved. Just drop off the coats you no longer need at any Ziker location. The winter coats can be any type and size, but the greatest need is for child-size machine-washable coats that can be easily maintained after they are distributed. Ziker will distribute the coats through local school corporations in mid-December prior to the holidays.
"In times of need free coats help to keep our community's children warm and healthy," says Jennifer Probst, Retail Sales Director of Ziker Cleaners & Shirt Laundry. "Residents and businesses of Michiana have supported our business for over 90 years. Giving back in this small way is something we're proud to do as a part of our community outreach program," Probst concluded.
Since 1986, Ziker has collected and distributed over 205,000 coats.
