Some bold thieves have made off with a truckload of aluminum.
It happened Sunday night at the AACOA Aluminum plant in Niles.
Michigan State Police say security video from a nearby truck stop shows a pickup truck driven by two of the suspects.
Police say they used a semi-truck to haul away a trailer loaded with 80 thousand pounds of aluminum.
AACOA says the stolen trailer was parked at the AACOA Niles aluminum plant. AACOA believes the thieves will try to sell the aluminum for scrap.
"A legitimate scrap dealer would not take this for scrap. Its obvious its not scrap, the way its packaged, the way its identified," said ACCOA President Dan Formsma.
This is what the stolen aluminum looks like. The haul is worth about 50 thousand dollars to AACOA, but it's worth a lot less as scrap.
Police provided this video of one of the suspects. They believe three people were involved.
