Michiana boutiques started moving their merchandise into City Plaza Thursday afternoon for a unique overstock sale that kicks off Friday at noon.
It's been a tough year and the would-be competitors decided to band together in hopes of liquidating some merchandise to make room for holiday items. They say they'll have everything from designer clothing and shoes, to spa products and hand crafted jewelry, at a fraction of the normal price.
Ali Oesch, a jewelry designer says, "I thought doing this sale was a great idea because I wanted to give all my loyal customers and regular customers some great deals and discounts and I also thought it would be a great way to meet new people and clientele."
Kathy Friend, the event organizer says, "Everybody that you are going to see here is locally owned and supporting a locally owned business in this economy today, it's just supporting your neighbor, supporting a friend, and I think that's the utmost important, probably THE most important thing about this sale."
The sale runs Friday from noon to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at City Plaza in Granger. That's right across from Ruth's Chris. Generally speaking, the prices range from $15 to $25.
