INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - An attorney for an Indianapolis businessman says he is cooperating with an investigation of his Indiana and Ohio companies searched by federal agents.
Attorney John Tompkins tells WTHR-TV in Indianapolis that Timothy Durham is "convinced he has done nothing wrong."
Federal agents loaded a truck with boxes taken Tuesday from Obsidian Enterprises of Indiana, a leveraged-buyout firm owned by Durham in Indianapolis. The FBI said it also searched the offices of Fair Financial Services in Akron, Ohio.
An Indianapolis Business Journal investigative story published in October raised questions about whether Fair Financial could repay those who bought nearly $200 million in investment certificates.
Tompkins says Durham has been in Los Angeles on business for the past few months, but has been in contact with the FBI.
