Fox 28: South Bend, Elkhart IN News, Weather, SportsCoats for Kids program needs more coats

The Coats for Kids is program is currently running behind their goal for this year. 2,500 coats are needed but so far less than 1,000 have been collected.
The collection campaign has been going on since November 9th. After the coats are sorted and cleaned, they will be given out to school districts in South Bend, Mishawaka, Elkhart and Goshen. The distribution takes place in mid-December.
Winter coats of any type and size are welcome, but the greatest need is for child-size, machine-washable coats. Coats can be dropped at any Ziker Cleaners location in South Bend, Mishawaka, Granger and Elkhart.
South Bend Community Schools will be holding a coat give away on Saturday December 12th from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Jefferson Intermediate Center, 528 S. Eddy St., South Bend. For more information contact Roz Ellis at 574-283-8205
