An Oscar-nominated actress paid Michiana a visit on Monday.
Glenn Close was at Saint Mary's College to work one-on-one with theatre students. Monday night, the star of "Fatal Attraction" and the TV show "Damages" presented a lecture titled "An Evening with Glenn Close."
Students got to ask Close questions this afternoon. One asked how rough show business can be.
"There's a lot of competition," Close said. "In the beginning, it's about getting into shows and getting into auditions and having an agent see you and hopefully getting an agent and getting a union card. And you don't get a union card unless you're in a show. And you don't get a show unless you have a union card. So it's very hard."
Close is this year's Margaret Hill Endowed Visiting Artist. Other Saint Mary's visiting artists have included actress Camryn Manheim and Tony Award-winning director Harold Prince.
