If you saw a woman being "barbequed" on a grill in South Bend on Friday afternoon, hopefully it was PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) trying to make a point.
To kick off World Weekend for the Abolition of Meat, a PETA member wearing in an apron with fake blood "barbecued" another member wearing red and black body paint.
PETA's goal was to share their view belief that animals are much like humans, and that killing and eating animals is wrong.
"Flesh is flesh, and animals feel pain and suffer just as humans do," says PETA spokesperson Kristina Addington. "What revolts people about the idea of eating humans should also revolt them when it comes to the idea of eating other animals."
