NORTON SHORES, Mich. (AP) - Police investigating the disappearance of a mother from her job at a western Michigan gas station nearly a year ago are issuing a fresh appeal for tips in the case. Jessica Heeringa (HEER'-in-guh) disappeared last April before she was set to close the station in Norton Shores. Police say there was no indication of a robbery. The gas station had no security cameras.

DETROIT (AP) - A judge is expected to order life sentences for a man convicted of killing two women at a Detroit retirement home. Mike Reda was convicted this month of first degree murder in the October deaths of Deborah Socia and Maria Gonzalez. Reda told police that he had dated the same woman for several years and that the two shooting victims befriended her and frequently kept the girlfriend away from him.

DETROIT (AP) - U.S. Treasury Secretary Jacob Lew plans to visit Detroit tonight to explore ways to promote job creation and economic growth. Lew plans to tour New Center Stamping. It's a Detroit business that received $3.7 million in funding from the Treasury Department's State Small Business Credit Initiative.

DETROIT (AP) - Diego Rivera's murals at the Detroit Institute of Arts have been designated as one of four new national historic landmarks. The Detroit Industry murals were conceived by Rivera as a tribute to the city's manufacturing base and labor force of the 1930s. The Mexican artist in 1932 and 1933 completed the murals on walls of a court in the museum.
