CLEVELAND (AP) - Starter Max Scherzer retired 22 straight batters after the first inning last night to lead the Detroit Tigers to a 5-1 win over the Cleveland Indians. Scherzer remains unbeaten after allowing one run and two singles in eight innings. Miguel Cabrera and Andy Dirks both homered for the Tigers.

DETROIT (AP) - Jimmy Howard and the Detroit Red Wings will try to put the Chicago Blackhawks on the brink of elimination tomorrow night in Game 4 of their second-round series. Howard has held top-seeded Chicago to just one goal in two straight games, lifting Detroit to a 2-1 series lead. Blackhawks goalie Corey Crawford has given up a combined seven goals over the last two games.

CHICAGO (AP) - Jose Quintana took a no-hitter into the seventh innings last night as the Chicago White Sox beat the Boston Red Sox 3-1. The left-hander allowed just three hits and struck out five to improve to 3-1 on the season. Alex Rios extended his career-high hitting streak to 16 games with a single and RBI double.

NEW YORK (AP) - The Cleveland Cavaliers have won the NBA lottery for the second time in three years. The Orlando Magic have the No. 2 pick in the June 27th draft and the Washington Wizards are third. The Detroit Pistons have the No. 8 overall pick.
