David West knocked away two passes by LeBron James for key turnovers in the final minute. Roy Hibbert scored 29 points and Paul George had 22. Game 3 of the series is tomorrow night in Indianapolis.
SAN ANTONIO (AP) - The Indiana Fever opened defense of their WNBA title with a strong 79-64 win over the Silver Stars in San Antonio. Tamika Catchings and Shavonte Zellous each scored 19 points. Katie Douglas added 18. San Antonio was without Becky Hammon and Sophia Young in last night's game.
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Yesterday's Freedom 100 ended up being the closest oval race in the history of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Patrick Dempsey of Ireland made a late pass to win the Indy Lights race by a fraction of a second in a four-wide photo finish.
CONCORD, N.C. (AP) - NASCAR driver Danica Patrick says she's not sure she'll ever race in the Indianapolis 500 again, though she still follows the event. Patrick says her focus is on the Sprint Cup series and the chances of her running at the Indy 500 become "less and less likely with each passing year."
