Traci Capellman
News Anchor

Traci brought an extensive reporting background and excellent news judgment to FOX 28 News when she joined the team in January 1996. In fact, her first job here was as a general assignment reporter. She moved to Indianapolis for a brief stint as a FOX reporter there, before returning to Michiana to anchor FOX 28 News.

Originally from Pittsburgh, PA, Traci started her career behind the scenes in Pittsburgh television and radio. Her first on-air job was with the FOX affiliate in Johnstown, PA where she was a reporter and fill-in anchor.

Reporting still is something Traci loves to do. Along with anchoring at FOX 28, she also works on special investigations for the news. She's glad to have more time to dedicate to these in-depth reports, to make sure they stand out. Traci has earned several Associated Press Awards for her work including Best Investigating Reporting, Best Enterprise Reporting, Best Spot News Reporting and Public Affairs/Documentary Reporting.

In 2003, Traci married FOX 28 Morning Co-Host Steve DuVal and they have two daughters, Delaney & Londyn. In her spare time Traci loves spending time with her family as well as watching movies, reading and relaxing at Lake Michigan.

She is an active volunteer with the Make-A-Wish Foundation and gives her time to other organizations like the American Cancer Society, St. Joseph County Humane Society, the Salvation Army and Habitat for Humanity.

Traci co-anchors FOX@5 and FOX 28 News at Ten with Ed Greenberger every weeknight.

Ed Greenberger
Anchor

Ed Greenberger brings more than ten years of anchoring and reporting experience to Fox 28 News. He might be new to Michiana, but he’s a Midwestern boy at heart. Born in Cleveland, OH, Ed still has plenty of family in the Midwest.

He began his television career as the sports director at KIDK-TV in Idaho Falls, ID. From there, Ed moved to West Palm Beach, FL, where he spent nearly a decade at both WPBF, the ABC affiliate, and WPEC, the CBS affiliate. Ed also spent a year as the lead reporter for Moneywatch TV, a nationally-syndicated financial show that aired on PAX-TV.

Ed has won multiple Associated Press awards, and he loves to get out in the field and report as much as he loves to anchor. Ed covered the 9/11 attacks, the 2000 presidential election recount, the Super Bowl, the World Series, The Masters and the Daytona 500. His favorite interviews include Bill Murray, Bobby Bowden and Jack Nicklaus.

Ed and his wife, Stephanie, have a daughter named Sydney. When Ed isn’t working, he’s busy changing diapers, rocking Sydney to sleep, spending quality time with his family and rooting hard for his Cleveland Indians, Browns and Cavaliers.

Ed co-anchors FOX@5 and FOX 28 News at Ten with Traci Capellman every night.

John Fischer
Chief Meteorologist

When it comes to Michiana weather, John doesn't miss anything. He's been forecasting thunderstorms and lake effect snows here since October 1994. John started on the morning show, then in 1996 moved to nights.

While John now calls Michiana home, he is originally from New York. He honed his meteorological skills in a couple tough-to-forecast New York cities - Buffalo and Syracuse. He also worked in Knoxville, TN before coming to FOX 28.

John is proud to hold the Broadcast Seal of Approval from the American Meteorological Society. He also has the Broadcast Seal of Approval from the Meteorological Board of the National Weather Association. These Seals are difficult to earn. To earn them, John has to maintain a high level of forecasting accuracy and meteorological knowledge.

The 5-degree Guarantee is one way John shows viewers they can depend on his forecasts. And viewers know they can depend on John's forecasts just by looking outside.

John and his wife, Kathleen, have two daughters. In his spare time, John is an avid gardener. He also enjoys walking and reading.

As chief meteorologist, you can see John every weeknight on FOX 28 News.

Elishah Oesch
Morning Show Co-Host

Elishah Oesch has no trouble waking up in the morning, which is a good quality for a morning anchor. She brings a depth of experience as an anchor and reporter to the FOX 28 Morning Show each weekday. She adds a quick smile and fun personality to that professional foundation.

Originally from Tennessee, Elishah’s early broadcasting career kept her close to home. She worked as the weekend anchor/producer and weekday reporter for the FOX affiliate in Chattanooga. Elishah graduated from the University of Memphis and studied abroad at Edge Hill College in England.

Steve DuVal
Morning Show Co-Host

Steve gives Michiana viewers accurate and dependable weather forecasts every day. But his role for Fox 28 News goes beyond what you might expect from a self-proclaimed "weather aficionado." You can see him interviewing guests and helping bring you the day's news on the FOX 28 Morning Show. He's done all this since joining FOX 28 News in May 2000.

But Steve spent the first seven years of his broadcasting career in radio. His radio days took him from Toledo, to Oklahoma, then back to Toledo. There, Steve decided to take a chance on television. His first TV job was hosting the Kids Club for Toledo's Fox station. Steve soon moved to the news department, doing a little bit of everything and the rest is broadcasting history.

Steve says it's those early days in radio that formed the foundation for the quirky brand of broadcasting he uses today.

Steve married FOX 28 News Anchor Traci Capellman in 2003. They have two daughters, Delaney & Londyn, who keep them on their toes.

Steve may not get as much sleep as he would like, but getting to spend all day playing dad is well worth it.

You can catch Steve every weekday morning on the Fox 28 Morning Show.

Cara Jacobs
Weekend Anchor/Reporter

Cara Jacobs joined FOX 28 in April 2007 as a reporter. A native of Michigan, she is excited to be closer to home covering the stories that matter most to Michiana residents. She was promoted to weekend anchor in September 2007.

Cara's career originally led her to Cheyenne, Wyoming, where she worked as an anchor and producer, and grew to love the western way of life. However, the Wyoming winds eventually proved too unbearable, and she found herself missing the Midwest. That's when she moved closer to home to report for the FOX affiliate in Toledo, Ohio. Her career highlights include covering the deadly Bluffton bus crash, interviewing media mogul Ted Turner, and meeting breast cancer survivors while reporting on the importance of early detection. Cara loves her profession because, "It doesn't seem like a job. I'm meeting influential people, interviewing the movers and shakers in the community, and learning more about the world in which we live."

Aside from her love for news, Cara also enjoys watching football. A former feature twirler for the Detroit Lions and Eastern Michigan University, she grew to understand and appreciate the sport. The media coverage at all of the games, coupled with her love for writing, sparked her interest in broadcasting.

Ralph Waldo Emerson's quote, "The only gift is a portion of thyself" is one that holds deep meaning with Cara. She has been extremely active in her community as an advocate for Character Counts, The Girl Scouts of America, and as a motivational speaker.

Cara graduated Magna Cum Laude from Eastern Michigan University with a B.A. in Elementary Education and Magna Cum Laude from Michigan State University with a M.A. in Journalism.

Cara is always looking for great story ideas and feedback from the community. You can e-mail her at cjacobs@fox28.com.

Ken Garcia
Weekend Weather/Reporter

Ken Garcia is thrilled to be living and working in the Michiana area. Before moving to the area in April 2007, Ken spent two years in the Rocky Mountains.

He came to FOX 28 News from KIDK in Idaho Falls, Idaho. There he worked as a reporter and weather forecaster. Meeting interesting people and experiencing a new adventure every day are two of the reasons Ken feels he has the best job around.

Ken was born and raised in Orlando, Florida. He misses his home state, especially when the snow starts to fall. He also misses the sun tan he once had.

His love for journalism started when he was in high school doing the daily news. He graduated from the University of Florida (Go Gators!) with a degree in Telecommunication. While there, he worked for the University's radio and TV stations.

In his spare time, Ken likes to workout, read, enjoy the outdoors, and keep tabs on his favorite sports teams.

You can catch Ken reporting during the week and forecasting the weather on the weekends. E-mail Ken at kgarcia@fox28.com.

Allison Hayes
Weekend Sports

Allison Hayes was born and raised right here in Michiana - Niles, Michigan. At Niles High School, Allison was a varsity letter winner in three sports. She was the editor of her school newspaper and a guest sports columnist for the Niles Daily Star. It was her print journalism experience which sparked her career in the media.

After high school, Allison attended Polk Community College in Winter Haven, FL on a tennis scholarship. She transfered to the University of Florida, where she graduated with a degree in Telecommunication and a Masters in Commercial Recreation and Sports Tourism.

Before coming to FOX 28 in September 2004, Allison worked for WCJB in Gainesville, FL, where she continued covering her beloved Gators as a sports photographer, producer, reporter and anchor. She then took a job with Sunshine Network, covering university and high school sports throughout the state of Florida.

Allison loves the outdoors. In her free time, she jogs, takes her dog "Baxter for walks, and reads. She is happy to be back in Michiana with her friends and family, and covering some of the best sports in the country!

You can see Allison on Friday night's Sports Extra with Dean Huppert, anchoring sports on Saturday and Sunday nights, and during the week reporting on sports stories that matter to you.

Lindsey Sablan
Reporter

Lindsey Sablan joined the FOX 28 team in November 2007 as a general assignment reporter. She’s lived all over the United States including the D.C. area, Missouri, Illinois, California and Hawaii, and now Michiana.

She also filled in as an anchor there. Lindsey graduated from the University of Missouri with a Bachelor's Degree in Broadcast Journalism. She also interned for NBC news in the network’s London, England bureau. She really enjoyed her time on the other side of “the pond.”

You can see Lindsey reporting across Michiana on FOX 28 News. If you have any ideas for Lindsey, please email her at lsablan@fox28.com.
