The FOX28 Golf Challenge is back!

Be sure to catch the FOX28 Golf Challenge every Wednesday night during FOX28 News at 10. Sports Director Dean Huppert and Sports Anchor Adam Shear take on challengers from all over Michiana. You never know who is going to challenge our team or where they might play.

    Police identify man killed by train in Bridgman

    Police have identified the man who was killed by a train last night in Bridgman. He is 20 year old Austin Thackston of Saint Joseph, Michigan. Police say it happened at the crossing off Lake Street. People who were there say the victim tried running across the railroad tracks after the gates were down and the lights were flashing. Thackston was pronounced dead at the scene.More >>

     South Bend's Andrew Velasquez walked and went 1-4.  On base twice so the streak is now at an incredible 68 games in a row!. The team had a pretty good streak also winning their last 10 in-a-row.  Dayton beat the first place Silver Hawks 5-4.  If Velasquez ties the record it would be Saturday in Ft. Wayne.  If he breaks it, it would be Sunday afternoon, if you want to witness historyMore >>

     Jeff Samardzija was good enough to play in the Major League All Star game on FOX next Tuesday, but the trade made him a victim of circumstances.  He will still be part of the event.  He'll be introduced at his first All Star game.  He just won't be able to pitch.  Samardzija said,  "Yeah it's really different.   So we're just gonna kind of wing it.  See what happens.  Most of all enjoy the festivities of being a first time all star. More >>
