    Saint Joseph Department of Public Safety warns of possible scam

    The Department of Public safety is warning businesses of a possible scam. The person is calling businesses and saying they work for Indiana Michigan Power. A report was taken yesterday from a local business owner who received a call from a person claiming to be a representative for I&M. The caller informed the owner of a missed payment for their electric bill. The caller then said the power to their business would be shut off in 45 minutes unless the fee was paid in cash.More >>

    Man calls police due to suspicious package

    A man called the Elkhart County Sheriff's Department this morning fearing a suspicious package was a bomb. He described the package as having a battery pack and a blinking red light lying on his desk at his place of employment in Elkhart.The employee, concerned about the item, took it outside and threw it in a ditch on the north side of the business.Officers arrived and evacuated the immediate area as a precautionary measure.More >>

    Anna Rohrer and Ashleigh Macleod honored by Mishawaka

     Mishawaka Senior to be Anna Rohrer was honored tonight by the Mishawaka town council for winning another state and national championship.  She was joined by the 800 state champ, freshman Ashleigh Macleod from Penn.  Anna Rohrer said,  "It's really nice to know that no matter where I'm competing that I'm not alone, that all over the place people are watching.  Especially in Mishawaka."

    Silver Hawks flying high in 2nd half

     They already clinched a playoff spot, but they haven't gotten satisfied in the 2nd half of the season.  Going into today, the Silver Hawks were tied with West Michigan for the top spot in the East in the 2nd half.  The Benders are now 19-11 after winning an afternoon game against Peoria.

     Check out this picture of Garrett Saunders from this past Saturday.  If you think it looks bad, take a look at the on board camera.  The 17 year old ran up on his big brother's tire and flipped his sprint car 5 times.  It looks really scary but "G-Money" came out just fine.  Just a little shaken up.
