South Bend Clay has hired Jaraan Cornell to be their girls varsity basketball coach. And NorthWood announced that Steve Neff will coach one more year and the Panthers will hire a coach in waiting. That coach will be on the bench with Neff for a year and then take over the Program. Neff currently has 634 wins and 175 losses. South Bend Speedway was purchased by the Brown family 2 1/2 years ago. The concessions, track, restrooms, walls, press box and even the grandstands have all been improved. Robert Lambert high jumped 6'8" to break a 56 year old record that had been held by Leroy Johnson in 1957.
