DETROIT (AP) - The Detroit Tigers have purchased the contracts of 4 players including second baseman Scott Sizemore, the organization's 2009 Minor League Player of the Year.
Sizemore combined to hit .308 with 17 home runs, 66 RBI and 21 stolen bases in 130 games with Class AAA Toledo and Class AA Erie last season. He played in six games with Peoria of the Arizona Fall League before undergoing surgery on his fractured left ankle on Oct. 27.
The Tigers also purchased the contracts of shortstop Audy Ciriaco, first baseman-outfielder Ryan Strieby and outfielder Brennan Boesch.
