MICHIGAN CITY, Ind.  - Indiana State Police say a 16-year-old girl fleeing police struck a minivan driven by a 78-year-old man, killing him.

Police were about to end their pursuit due to heavy traffic when the Volvo ran a red light and struck a minivan being driven by 78-year-old Frank Wojcik. He was taken to a Michigan City hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The girl was hospitalized with a broken arm. A Michigan City police officer was slightly injured in the crash.
