Elkhart Police say dog attacks increase in warmer months

Elkhart police say dog bites and dog attacks happen all year long, but there's a definite increase in the summer months.

"Summer months, warmer temperatures, kids out playing more, animals out playing more, so they come into contact with each other and we see an increase in dog bites," said Elkhart Police Seargent Wayne Bias.

Bias says this time of year, it's especially important for parents to keep on their children when dogs are loose in the neighborhood.
