It was an emotional Thursday morning for both families as they awaited Leroy Hoover's sentencing.
Hoover's three family members sat next to him, while the mother of the two girls killed Shelly Aston and a friend sat nearby.
After the judge made his decision, Hoover was immediately taken into police custody and escorted out.
Meanwhile, Aston broke down in tears in the courtroom, and her lawyer escorted her out.
It was nearly an hour before she was able to gather herself and leave.
She says she had hoped to speak at the sentencing and had prepared a letter that talked about her two daughters and how they were her world.
Aston says, "I can't believe he only got 10 days and will serve 5 and be out before Thanksgiving. I don't understand the justice system."
