As the temperature starts to drop, many Michiana homeless shelters are prepping for the winter.
Workers at Hope Ministries say they always see a drastic increase in people needing a place to stay during the winter months.
Currently they need winter gear, especially larger coats and personal hygiene products.
Workers say they're still seeing a lot of families coming in who need a place to go.
Volunteer Coordinator Emily Jensen says, "We have a waiting list even for our building. We have a lot of families that are out of housing, and that's hard with weather amnesty because you see a lot of people in need right at the moment and really don't have a lot of options."
If you'd like to donate winter clothes or anything else, drop them off at Hope Ministries location on South Lafayette Street.
