The snow wasn't that heavy in most parts of Michiana on Monday morning, but it was our first considerable snowfall.
As always, that meant a rough morning on the roads. South Bend police say they saw more accidents than slide-offs this morning.
They're asking you to use your common sense when driving.
"You just have to slow down," said Lt. Steve Goen. "Give yourself more room between the cars in front of you and prepare to stop sooner than what you're normally used to."
Lt. Goen says it usually takes about a week after the first snowfall for people to realize they need to leave home earlier to give themselves some extra time to get to work.
