Police use message board to help homicide investigation

Posted:

The Michigan State Police are using a mobile message board to ask for help in the investigation into the killings of a Niles area couple.   The lighted message board will be at a location on Yankee Street, near the scene of the homicides.  The reader board will be in place at least through the weekend.  Police hope people who drive in the area will have information about a suspect seen in the area.

Carolyn Tarwacki and her husband John were found dead in their home the morning of February 5th.  Police say they were the victims of violent homicide.

Footprints in the snow were found between the couple's home on Carberry Road and Yankee Street the morning of the crimes.  Police believe the suspect walked along Yankee Street prior to, and following the crime.  That suspect is described as a white male, 20 to 30 years old, with a medium build and brown hair.

Anyone with information can call the Michigan State Police at 1-269-683-4411.
