Host Dave Carlson brings unique stories about the people, places and issues of our great outdoors. His goal is to bring you the real stars of the show, the people from around the Midwest and Great Plains that are making an impact on our natural resources and share their wisdom with you. Each year he and Dave Roll travel thousands of miles to find the true Northland Adventures.

Dave Roll is a long time friend of Dave Carlson and began doing videography for Northland Adventures in December 2005. Dave is a lifetime resident of Eau Claire and a graduate of UW-Eau Claire with a bachelor's in music. Because of his musical background, Dave can produce special video projects that include custom music and sound design. Dave's dad started teaching him about camping, hunting and fishing at a young age and that love of the outdoors continues to present day. Combining a personal appreciation for the outdoors with professional interests in videography, writing and story-telling creates a perfect match. Being able to accurately capture and convey the stories and passion for the outdoors of the show's guests is a welcome challenge.

Lauren Magiera grew up in Barrington, Illinois where she competed in gymnastics with her older sister, winning a state championship in 2000.
After high school she accepted a Division 1 full scholarship to University of Alaska Anchorage, where she really developed into the person that she is today. She graduated with her Bachelors in Journalism and Public Communications with a concentration in Broadcast.
She began as an Intern and worked her way up to Sports Director working for the ABC Affiliate, and also at NBC. Living in Alaska for eight years was great exposure to The Last Frontier, and that is when her love for the outdoors really developed. She hosted a weekly fishing report, covered the Iditarod in below zero temperatures and covered a 2,000 mile snowmobile race every step of the way along the Bering Sea. Her fondest memories of Alaska (and hobbies) include any and all kinds of fishing, hunting, hiking, kayaking, camping, scuba diving, white water rafting, snowmobiling, ice climbing on a glacier and ice fishing.
Lauren is really excited about moving to Wausau and hopes to stay involved in the outdoors as much as possible, along with being involved within the community by volunteering with Big Brother Big Sister. Lauren approaches her work with a "thinking outside the box" approach and really tries to bring a fresh look to any assignment.
