Now more than ever, we know that nearly half of all cancer deaths can be prevented through healthier lifestyle choices. In Indiana alone, an estimated 33,000 residents are diagnosed with cancer each year, but many of those diagnoses could be avoided. Funds raised through events like Relay For Life help us educate the public about risk factors and how to prevent cancer through a variety of awareness and education campaigns and programs such as:
- School Health Education
- Healthy Nutrition and Activity Guidelines
- Tobacco and cancer
- Advocacy and legislative efforts to pass clean indoor air laws
- Smoking cessation
- Information services: 1-800-227-2345 and cancer.org, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, offering support and education on a variety of topics
- Cancer Screening Guidelines -
