DETROIT (AP) - The Detroit Red Wings have agreed to a three-year contract with Tomas Tatar after the left wing was second on the team in goals last season. Tatar's deal is worth $2.75 million per year. The forward had 19 goals and 20 assists in 73 games in his first full season in the NHL. Only Gustav Nyquist scored more goals for Detroit with 28.

ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) - The Detroit Lions are postponing contract talks with All-Pro defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh (ehn-DAHM'-uh-kehn soo) until after the season. Suh is entering the final season of his contract. Team president Tom Lewand and general manager Martin Mayhew both expressed optimism that a deal can eventually be reached.

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) - A jury has acquitted a man in the robbery-slaying of Eastern Michigan University football player Demarius Reed. The jury reached the verdict last in the trial of Ed Thomas. He was one of two men charged in the killing of the wide receiver from Chicago. Kristopher Pratt accepted a deal and pleaded guilty to second-degree murder.

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Nneka Ogwumike scored 21 points to help the Los Angeles Sparks beat the Indiana Fever 77-73 last night. Ogwumike scored the final four points for the Sparks. Indiana had chances to tie in the final seconds but Briann January missed twice. Indiana had to foul after it could not secure the rebound on Karima Christmas' intentionally missed free throw.
