Romney to hold fundraiser in NW Indiana July 28

SCHERERVILLE, Ind. (AP) - Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney will visit northwestern Indiana later this month to attend a fundraiser in support of his campaign.

The July 28 event at the home of former Republican state Rep. Dan Dumezich of Schererville requires a minimum contribution of $1,000.

Dumezich is the co-chairman of Romney's campaign in Indiana. He tells The Times of Munster that Romney "is going to go in and tell business what he's going to do and then stick to it." Dumezich says Romney reminds him of GOP Gov. Mitch Daniels during his first run for the governor's office in 2004.

President Barack Obama won Indiana in his 2008 race against Republican U.S. Sen. John McCain. It was the first time a Democratic presidential candidate carried Indiana since Lyndon Johnson in 1964.
