Press Release from Boys and Girls Club of St. Joseph County
Lucinda Reese, an educator at the Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Joseph County in South Bend, along with Club members TaShawn Reese, age 16, and Devyn Jackson, age 14, will be featured in a live, interactive, global webcast from the Mediterranean Sea to discuss their research aboard E/V Nautilus, the ship of exploration of renowned scientist and explorer Dr. Robert Ballard. Their experience on the Nautilus is just one part of their two-year internship with The JASON Project, a nationally acclaimed exploration-based science program named for Jason, the mythological Greek explorer.
Media are invited to attend the webcast at the Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Joseph County, where Club staff and members will watch Lucinda, TaShawn, and Devyn describe their work with an international team of scientists and engineers exploring shipwrecks, biology and geology. The interactive webcast, which will feature questions from students around the world, will also be available on The JASON Project website at jason.org/live.
