Middlebury plant layoffs to affect more than 100 jobs

Trailer manufacturer Pace American Inc. has announced more than 100 job cuts at its Middlebury facility.

Those jobs are among more than 250 cuts announced at Pace facilities in five states, according to the company's notice provided to the Indiana Department of Workforce Development.

The 106 layoffs in Middlebury -- some of which have already occurred -- are expected to be permanent.

Pace American makes cargo, auto and other trailers, according to the company's website.
