Powerful winds led to tragedy on a Michiana golf course today.

A 53-year-old Chicago man died this morning while playing at Dunes Club and Golf Course in New Buffalo.

According to the Chicago Tribune, high winds blew a tree on top of Bruce Florine, hitting him in the head and killing him instantly.

Friends say he was a Michigan native.

Florine worked for the PGA tour and was preparing for next year's Ryder Cup in the Chicago area.
