A Berrien County woman was killed in a car crash yesterday afternoon.
The sheriff's department says 49-year-old Frank Simko of Berrien Center was driving south bound on M-140 and collided with a driver traveling east bound on Deans Hill Road who failed to yield at the intersection.
According to Andrews University the east bound vehicle driver was 41-year-old Esperanza Alvarez-Muniz, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Alvarez-Muniz was the assistant dean of women for Lamson Hall at Andrews University.
The University says she was driving with her mother to pick grapes.
Her mother suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Simko wasn't injured.
