Halloween is still a few weeks away but many people are already shopping for costumes and they're doing it on a budget.
Shoppers like Ricardo Luva and Samantha Vanvoorhis found out that Halloween costumes can be pricey too.
"We're just looking to get ideas and then we're going to go to Goodwill and buy something because it's expensive.," says Vanvoorhis.
According to the National Retail Federation, Americans spent more than two billion dollars on Halloween costumes and decorations in 2010 .
Lilly's Discount Party store manager Garry Ferrell says while the economy is definitely a factor, sales for the season are heading in the right direction.
"They are starting to pick up at first we were in doubt as to whether the season would be good or not, but it has picked up in the last three or four days of this weekend," says Ferrell.
He says people are excited for the holiday and don't seem to have a problem buying what they want.
One person told us that they often shop the after-Halloween sales to get costumes to use the following year.
