UPDATE: Fatal shooting in Elkhart

Elkhart police responded to a report of shots fired on the 200 block of Dr. King Drive around 11:15 Saturday night.

Officers arrived and found two people, 19-year-old Ariana Pendleton and 35-year-old Jarvis Joiner shot. Both were transported to Elkhart General Hospital for treatment.

Pendleton died from her injuries at the hospital a short time later. Joiner was treated at EGH and was transported to South Bend Memorial Hospital. At this time the condition of the male is unknown.

Police are continuing to investigate, but have no suspects at this time.
