Elkhart Police arrest man for siding theft

An Elkhart man has been arrested after police say he stole aluminum siding from a vacant home.

Elkhart Police say a resident contacted police about a suspicious person near a vacant home in the 900 block of West Franklin Street. Officers arrested 35-year-old Artavius Ford of Elkhart, who they say matched the description given of the subject.

During their investigation, police say officers located aluminum siding removed from the home.

Ford is being held at the Elkhart County Jail on felony theft charges.
