A semi-driver was killed when a horse trailer broke loose from a Suburban, crossed the median, and flew through the windshield of the semi-truck.
It happened just after midnight in Porter County Saturday.
Fifty year-old Julio Zatina of Bridgeview, Illinois was the driving the semi east bound when the trailer came through his windshield.
Zatina lost control, went through the median, crossed the west bound lanes and landed in the ditch.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Suburban wasn't injured.
The horse trailer was empty.
