Drivers will no longer need to limit
themselves to 55 on a western section of the Indiana Toll Road.
ITR Concession Company says the speed limit for
light vehicles has increased from 55 to 70 from just east of the Illinois-Indiana
state line to mile marker 20, just before the exit to I-94/80. Trucks will be
allowed to go 65.
ITR Concession Co. says the increase comes after
the completion of a third lane expansion project.
The speed limit will remain 55 between mile
makers 20 and 25.5 due to heavier traffic around the Portage Toll
Plaza.
New
speed limit signs are already in place.
