A former Notre Dame offensive coordinator is facing a lesser charge in his domestic battery case.
Michael Haywood had been facing a class D felony Domestic Battery Charge, but on February 1 Haywood entered the St. Joseph County Pre-Trial Diversion program. The felony charge was dismissed and a new Class A misdemeanor charge of Domestic Battery.
The Pre-Trial Diversion programs allow for the charged crime to be dismissed
upon the successful completion of this program and all of its terms.
