Kenneth Gaipa of Kenneth G Rare Coins and Estate Jewelry, in Elkhart, has pled guilty to tax evasion.
The Federal Prosecutor's Office says Gaipa admitted to submitting false and misleading records to his tax preparer that underreported his income for 2008 through 2010 and signed a false petition of bankruptcy.
According to a release from the prosecutor's office, Gaipa "also admitted that in 2011
he misrepresented to the Social Security Administration that he had not worked
since February 2006 when in fact he had, and that he had no business or self
employment income when in fact he earned substantial income as the owner of
Kenneth G Rare Coins and Estate Jewelry."
The charges followed an investigation by the IRS, the US Trustees Office, and the Social Security Administration.
