The streets of downtown South Bend were bustling
Sunday afternoon with supporters walking for the St. Margaret's House 13th
Annual Winter Walk.
The mile long walk kicked off at the
county city building. Gorgeous weather
welcomed walkers Sunday but it's not always that way. The walk is always scheduled in the middle of
winter so participants can experience the life of a woman or child whose
everyday means of transportation is their feet no matter what the weather's
like. Walker, Michelle
Bryant said, "some of them don't have cars some of them it's all they can
do just to keep the heat on in the winter."
The funds
raised from the walk help St. Margaret's House, which supports women who
struggle with economic poverty.
