Several residents of a South Bend Apartment complex were forced to evacuate their homes Monday morning after an apartment caught fire.
A fire broke out at Maple Lane Apartments shortly after 8:00am Monday morning. Everyone was able to get out safely, but there was smoke and water damage in one of the apartments.
Resident of the damaged apartment,Rhonda Brown, told FOX28 News that she was already awake and getting ready for work when she smelled smoke.
