A 49-year-old Niles man was killed early Tuesday morning when he was hit by a car.
According to Michigan State Police, the Scott Parm was crossing U.S. 12 from South Third Street around 6:30am when an eastbound vehicle hit him. State Police say the vehicle had a green light. The driver told police that she did not see Parm crossing the street.
Police say Parm was walking to Shelton's Market, where he worked.
Police don't believe alcohol and drugs were factors in the accident.
