It's Fat Tuesday time in Michiana. Some just call it Mardis Gras, but others refer to it as Paczki Day.
Well those that love paczki's that is. It's a Fat Tuesday tradition of the decadent kind.
If you've never had one, a paczki is kind of like the Polish version of the jelly donut. Traditionally, they're filled with plum or prune, but Indulgence Pastry Shop and Cafe serves 'em up with lots of other fillings, too.
And in honor of Mardi Gras, photographer Tom Shaw and I stuffed our faces with paczki's in a paczki eating contest. We took on Rob from U-93 and Ms. Foodie from South Bend Foodies.
The first one to finish two paczkis the fastest, took home the glory. Check out the video above to how things turned out.
