Newman & Busch sent to NASCAR hauler after incident at Darlington

Posted:

During the final laps of Saturday's Southern 500 at Darlington, Ryan Newman was spun out. After the race, he and his crew had a few choice words for Kurt Busch.

Newman approached Busch right after the race and it seemed to end amicably, but soon after things got heated between members of Newman's and Busch's crews, a lot of pushing and shoving. A NASCAR official even stumbled onto the hood of the car.

After Busch crashed with six laps remaining he was reportedly yelling on the team radio and after completing the pit stop to fix the damage, Busch did a loud burnout and drove through Newman's pit box.

The incident landed both drivers in the NASCAR hauler to explain what happened. No word yet on whether either team will be punished.

Newman also claims Busch hit him with his helmet after the race.
