Notre Dame Linebacker 21 year old Carlo Calabrese
The other player involved in the May 3 incident that led to misdemeanor charges for Notre Dame quarterback Tommy Rees has also been charged with a misdemeanor now.
Carlo Calabrese, 21, has been charged by the St. Joseph County Prosecutor's office with Intimidation.
Tommy Rees was charged with four misdemeanors following his arrest on May 3. Police were called out to a report of a loud party where they found the two players. Authorities say Rees tried to escape police, kneed an officer in the stomach, and had to be pepper sprayed before being taken into custody.
According to South Bend Police Captain Phil Trent, while Rees was being arrested Calabrese attempted to intervene, when his attempt to intervene failed he threatened the police
officer. Calabrese then went back towards a crowd of on lookers but a
few minutes later threatened the police officer again and was arrested.
Calabrese is scheduled to appear in court on May 17, the same day as Rees.
