For the third time in program history the Notre Dame men's lacrosse team will be playing on Championship Weekend. 4th ranked Notre Dame topped No. 5 and defending national champion Virginia 12-10 on Sunday afternoon in the NCAA quarterfinals

The Irish rallied around injured teammate Ryan Foley to score four straight goals.

Foley was injured and carted off the field on a stretcher after scoring the go ahead goal.  He was hit after the shot with helmet-to-helmet contact. He stayed on the ground for several minutes. Foley left the field on a stretcher but did give fans a thumbs up.

Coach Kevin Corrigan said after the game he believes Foley will be OK. He's said to have motion in his arms and legs and was taken to the hospital for evaluation.
