Military families invited to visit Elkhart museum for free

An Elkhart historical site is taking part in a national effort to encourage military personnel and their families to get out to museums.

The Ruthmere Museum Campus, which includes Elkhart's very first home is taking part in Blue Star Museums. Active Military members and their family members get in free.

"It's a way for us to give back to those who sacrifice for us, and we're just very proud and pleased to be a part of Blue Star Museums." Executive Director Bill Firstenberger

Ruthmere is one of 1500 museums across the country offering free admission for active duty families this weekend.
